Koko's Big Girl Room

A bit about Koko (short for Dakota): When people ask us, "Oh, is her name 'Coco' like Coco Chanel...?" we tell them, "No, Koko, like the gorilla." That statement pretty much embodies who she is...She is a free spirit (already calls herself an artist at 2 1/2 yrs.) We tried reflect her big personality in her room by filling it with big pieces art. We also wanted her to grow up with a love of plants and flowers (like us) and encourage her to read with the decor in her room. (Hence the book page mobile and art).

Love this artwork!

While browsing through Apartment Therapy, we recently ran across this image. The artwork above this bed is beautiful! We've been trying to think of ways to recreate this without too much difficulty...anyone have any ideas?

Recycled Lamp as Terrarium

New Addition.

Copper Inc: Books as Art

Artist Diana Waldon is a lady after our own heart: she turns books into beautiful paintings. We greatly enjoy browsing through her Etsy shop. It's so inspiring! Other than painting and creating, Diana enjoys red wine, and cookies (yet another aspect that makes her a girl after our own heart). She welcomes questions, comments, or tips on great red wines you've tried at her shop: Copper Inc. Thanks Diana, your work is so creative!

Brick and Mortar

Some of our favorite gift shops/home decor shops love terrariums too! Urban Indigo in Oakland and Apartment Forty Six in San Mateo are now selling our work. We are so excited. Thank you Urban Indigo and Apartment Forty Six!

Remembering the Early Days

A friend of ours, from TheOakLeaves recently posted on her blog about her first work of art for sale on Etsy. Well, we decided to take that walk down memory lane today as well. This work of art is called "Tree of Life." It was actually the first work of art we ever sold :) It's still our favorite.
